blogger to….

… blogger !

we really spend creative research time on line……
it still amazes me !!!
why is it so satisfying to know,
that others are searching the tiny web pages of the world,
to connect ?
how is this going to change the way we relate,
long-term ?
i know it is part of our natural evolution,
so i am not afraid,
but it is strange.
although i still write an old fashioned letter from time to time,
and use phones, cars, planes and my feet….
i do so much here.
as do you.
reading your posts is like fun science / social research.
watching life go by in this time zone is interesting,
that is why i started this thing……..
this interaction with “you”
out there,
anywhere,
everywhere,
anytime,
all the time !!!!!!!

happy 2006.
thanks to steve,
my joy on the eve of,
was captured up above.

may we all learn, watch and feel in maximum capacity !!!!

dig for the truth inside,
with shovels or guitars!

May the new year be full of excitement, experimenting and innovations!

It is only a period of time of 365 days, but still it can be considered a certain phase. It’s so inspirational because you can think it can be a little new beginning when everything is possible, and you can start some things from the start with new energy. Like the table would be a little bit cleaner. I have put so many challenges for myself and I am sure I will achieve at least some of them! Even a little learning is a good learning.

Hopefully it will be a year of innovations, love, design and life, and all of those surround us in all times.

It will also be a year of digital world, just like Melissa told us. All the formats are changing. We can learn from them and enjoy them, as long as the formats in our heads aren’t changing radically. It would be brilliant if we could conserve some nature in ourselves, that we don’t live totally through cables. It’s all about the balance my friends!

Year 2006 can’t be pure happiness, but the revolutions in life, nature and in ourselves are partly evitable. Happily the recovering happens over time, and now we still have it.

Greetings to all of you and greetings for Melissa who is one of my biggest “inspiratiors”!!! From the lovely snow-wonderland Finland,
    Laura

more amazing than digging for truth with a snow shovel is that photograph…time exposures like this are usually ALL blurry- yet this one shows your face crispy clear and smiling..was that a time exposure/flash combination??? pretty cool…I’ll have to try that.

I never write letters to anyone anymore and did not even think about it until I read your blog. The internet is important to me in terms of communication, I have made many valuable contacts by being online. Thanks for starting this blog for us and for taking the time to read our posts.

Nice words, snow looks great, and here it falls and turns to slush very quickly.

You have to look at the locations of the people on your blog are from it say’s it all. Doesn’t matter who you are, or wear your from, what you do.

The classic example in the way your music and the net have brought people of such a wide age range, all looking at the same information and exchanging thoughts. When any of us would see each other normally on the street or in a bar, there would be little common ground due to social interaction limitations.

You can share on the net, we are still a social animal, with many of us not living traditional lives with friends or families close by, due to many reasons.

Ur right we are naturally growing, abet at a fast rate now, the net allows us to safely explore the world. Then to inform are self’s and make changes to the world we live in :)

We will grow as a species, as there is no real control on information now, every one can be net-smart now :)

    Q.

How can u tell when your getting old?.

    A.

I was in Liverpool in one of the major record shop, to buying some cd’s, stood in the Goth/Rock/Indie section, in the space of ten minutes had most of the staff ask me, “if I was ok” and “what type of music I looking for as this was the noisy music section” .

Ok so I had a pin striped suite on, yes I did smile and said thank u to them for being so helpful, actually found it quite funny you never see your self as old ;)

Enjoy life and the New Year :)

Im totally into technologic stuff… i love them!
I’ve never been that good on writing with my own hands on a paper,my handwriting sucks:P
But yeah, sometimes technology is cold, it’s not that human.
That’s why we don’t have to forget the good old pen and paper or whatever it is considered “not technologic”.
It’s a proof of being still human i would say, still creative somehow!
    W pen & paper! :D

    Hey, Melissa! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
It’s good to see you’ve been writing in here. Your messages always put a smile on my face. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! Even though I never had the chance to see you live, your blog makes me feel closer to your world.
It seems like you had a really nice New Year’s eve. That picture is beautiful. I think I had never seen you laughing. You look awesome!
I have the feeling 2006 is going to be a great year. I really can’t say why, but something deep inside myself tells me good things are bound to happen. I’m in such a positive mood, and I’m seeing things in such a different way. It’s strange, but it feels so good!
My new band is making progress, and that makes me really happy. I’m playing with really gifted musicians and it’s a huge challenge. I hope I can learn as much as possible. I’m trying to do my best.
Rehearsals are the best hours in the whole week. It’s such a rush!I get so excietd I always feel I’m gonna be sick right before I get to the place where we rehearse. I think I’ve forgotten all our songs, and I start thinking about them and really can’t remember a single note. But then, magic happens, and once you’re playing it all comes back. It’s a great moment. I don’t know how I spent so much time without a band. All I can say is that it was worth the wait! I’m looking forward to us playing somewhere.
Today I bought new strings for my bass. I love their sound. It’s so bright and clear I can’t even put it in words. Bass is such a powerful instrument…
The heat around here is really awful, but as I’ve said, I’m in a positive mood, so I don’t really care.
Don’t forget to take a coat before you go out! =P
    Take care!
    Huge hug! =)

…and the most incredible thing is that “I” (as a complete stranger) am writing right now on a democratic way – even without feeling freedom.

this is not a revolution, technology have been here since the beginning… so the revolution would be the death of humankind.

Here’s a couple of technology suggestions for 2006.

    - Video diary of your 2006 tour to promote the new album – it might be easier to manage than a textual diary.
    - Tour photo book – Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs just released a photo book called “I Hope You Are All Happy Now”.
    - It would be great to see you appear on Letterman during 2006 as well.

It’s Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on Sunday (and my dad’s too!).

    Take care,

    Hi ,

I‘m still not soooo used to the internet-communication as a lot of other people I think, but I see myself spending more and more time at the internet cafe, and after someone told me about myspace.com I even signed up there and am still in in the exploring process, and I see that there are loads of great artists and music related people as well.

I still love writing and getting old-fashioned letters, by the way. It just takes much more time I guess, which most people don‘t seem to have anymore these days, including myself…I love the picture with the shovel, it suggests that you got still beautiful natural environment around you. Even though living in the big city has its advantages, I would love to have a little place in a vast landscape…snow has been melting again and now it‘s just freezing cold over here.

    PEACH, PLUM, PEAR
    PEACH, PLUM, PEAR
    PEACH, PLUM, PEAR

I must declare that Joanna Newsom is simply amazing. Anything with lyrics including,,,,

“I have read the right books
    to interpret your looks
    you were knocking me down
with the palm of your eye.
,Go Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na
na na na na na na na na.”

But if we really must get serious…… SNOW…. Yes natures white demon….. yes even worse than all disease rolled into one. However if your knocked down with the palm of someones eyes then you are the one with the real trouble.

However, the dark ages of camelot are coming, the desent to the medievel civilizations fast approach, their ageing effects, influence all of middle earth. To the point where we have but no choice but to bow to our new impending rulers. The barbarian invasion rattles at our boarders, they are unsatisfied at the way in which we run the people we command. With the darkness rising all around us, they pressure the changes, the alterations, the acceptance of their ideals and prospects and their recipie for southern friend chicken (see you next wednesday favorite chicken)

Graham smith says, as would an eternal prophet, that everyone must run an up-to-date virus checker and keep an proper backup of your operating system.

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

Back to the matter at hand, snow should be removed as quickly as possible.

For without proper preperation, the hammer and sickle will come down hard upon thy mortal skull, and all shall cause all to tremble before the red moon rising, ‘cos as we all know the red moon interpreates the work of Belelzibeb himself, and all his evil little fairies….. like elton john.

For if we can not construct the nessesary bridges that cross the devide between the clouds and cubes, deviding the intent between countries, sheltering their demands and goals…. then what are we to be. Mearly be an earwig that is angry, taking out its anger on musical bubbles on a rainly day. For as we see the witches yarn streches far over time space and reality, bending our own conceptions the theory of the universal construction, is there a god? only god himself may answer.

But how may we know if he were to be answeing, the universe as a whole is huge, the simple supernova to the most complicated worm…. does devine intervention manifest itself in those crazed skeletons rushing towards you. Mummy is angry, they despise the way we are destroying the enviroment in which we thrive.

Deplomecy, as it were, now offically called “peace” by other means. Has failed. We are now in an age in which looks can kill. The nod of the head can signal the destruction of a nation. We live in a time where thoughts can mean elemination. And bands desert our major cities and start to play shows in the forrests…. the safest place on earth.

As we can all see, the gardians have fallen, the protectors have failed and the apocolypse comes upon us. Fire shall rain from the sky and we should dig, dig until we are under the snow, the snow of cooling logic. Here may lie the ultimate and immidiate goal, to shape the face of the new world…. to goven the morals of the new people and to simplify the rougues of society.

However we must all take part, all of those who wish to participate in the new world, dance tha dance of the living, and limbo the limbo of the willing.

However, there must be a few rules, for one, they will only want you when your seventeen, when your twenty one…. your no fun, but in the long run we shall see, that you will not turn out how you want to be…… you want to be, a bee….. dont you?

Speaking of snow, theres one way of showing the travels on a certain girl through the path of the wicked white witch, she travels throught the magical cupboard, as you do, into the mystical land of narnia, a cupboard, inhabbited by lions…. and lepricorns and flying castles and….. those chearful folk who go buy the low key melody.

    GO GO POWER RANGERS

    YOU MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    love you all

Yes, surfing the Web, actually doesn’t feel like surfing at all… I love the feeling i get when i submerge myself in this virtual, wired world of words, images, sounds and videos – the Web.

I think it’s a very important step in our evolution. It has changed so much.

For example Melissa, how do you feel that what You are writing here in Your blog might be read by someone in India, Africa, or maybe even from the heart of Siberia or by a sailor on a ship heading to Antarctica…? This very thought is amazing. It’s very similar to the moment i first launched Google Earth. It’s beautiful. A bit scary too, but… just magical.

And ‘researching’… Blogger to blogger researching. Well, i’m a beginner in blogging so i don’t know, but i have been active on DeviantArt website and this is the most amazing art community. I don’t think any artist even 10 years ago could foresee that something like this could exist and influence visual artists all around the globe. To share, to research, to exchange, to create. Co-create.

Internet, then IRC and chats, then WWW, then communicators, webcams, voice over IP, blogs, forums… and now some great projects like Google Earth, eBay or Wikipedia… Wikipedia already changes the way students work all around the globe. This single invention is for me probably one of the top ten things that humanity gained through the spread of the world wide web. It’s beuatiful.
