so, bristol, i never played there, but what a town! living in the shadow of it’s extreme history: the dark years of the slave trade. the phenomenal architecture, water ways and noble buildings are built on the backs… the music venue the Fleece & Firckin has 30 years of live music history. from the trip hop of massive attack, tricky and portishead that hail from there, to the radioheads and pj harvey’s of the amazing music world. it’s a perfect stone pub, with a mysterious history of BLOOD IN THE WALLS….. also, home town to 2:54 and the last night of our UK tour. all around a great night. met loads of interesting and true lovers of sound. thank you for having us! i want to come back again x

As I said at the show, after not coming to you since my first album over 5 years ago and since our reunion this summer at Rock Herk & Dour, I’ve been reminded of our like-mindedness and will not wait so long to return again next time.

The BASS brought the light blast!

Lovely Birdpen joined the bill to kick off the tour, and they were FANTASTIC. Army of truth coming from their songs.

We, the OOOM Team were very very happy directly after the show.

As I will every night on this tour, I came out to meet YOU. These Dutch girls are the dutch wing of #CLASSOFHOPE2010. Thank you and work your dear asses off on that music ladies!

After the Belgium nurse party next door and before we knew it, we were embarking on a 6 am ferry to the DOVER white cliffs….

Matt whipped out OOOM SUPER 8 before the storm hit.

The ferry was stuck in the water for 3 extra hours due to rough seas. After my ferry English breakfast I slept on a chair, while the boat turned sideways, was covered in waves twice it’s height and then needed to be tugged to shore by TWO cute tugboats! Although we all have shaky sea legs and a new fear of ferries, I have DEEP love and admiration for the crashing waves (as I do volcanoes… but that’s another story….)

OOOM TOUR KICK OFF

IT HAS BEGUN X after ironing out the wrinkles the first week in canada (thanks ontario & montreal!), we are now getting into the swing of things.

OOOM TRAVEL!
We flew into Holland at the top of the week, and kicked off the tour with the sweetheart polite dutch at the W2!

In HOUSE OOOM photographer Matt Charland (that you once met at Heavy MTL on MAdMTV) is on the road with us, between shooting a super 8 OOOM Tour film, he promises to document daily, to send VISUAL OOOM reports to YOU. Matt Mission: OOOM Photo of the Day from the various tentacles of our world: Team OOOM, MAdM OOOM, Band OOOM, Day OOOM, Backstage OOOM, Panoramic OOOM, Travel OOOM, Food OOOM etc… an occasional MAdMTV OOOM video of the week that we will try to through together between, loading, sleeping, eating, playing, shooting etc… STARTING HERE, NOW…..

The Hunt for OOOM Clues
In House OOOM Projectionnist / Merchandiser Ashley Connor, will not only be sure that the OOOM Universe Projections, made in collaboration with FouMalade in Montreal, are seen BUT is in charge of getting our limited edition OOOM items to you at the show. As she will have direct access and conversations with YOU, we’ve decided it’s a great opportunity to gather clues on our OOOM hunt of Music & Magic. Please find Ashley to give us your truth (girl with the Flip Cam and headlamp!) as of UK we will be ready for you!

If all goes well, our hunt will result in a grand gathering of clues, that will add up to some glimpses of what music, life, friendship, art, communication and community means to us all, who’ve taken part in the OOOM Tour 2010.
