MAdMTV meets HEAVY MTL

finally, after years of not even knowing this should exist… MAdM TV is born.

born out of love of music, weird people and wanting to share it with YOU.
when a woman is invited to be the sole female front woman on a weekend of 34 HEAVY bands, in the sexiest city in the north east of the americas, she better equip herself with a modest camera crew and entourage, to feast on the moment… and so we did! Slayer, Mastodon, Molson Beer, need i say more………

dear land of heavy music lovers,
this is an ode to you, in a snapshot of what i think is the best HEAVY MUSIC festival in the world. you can not ask for a better city to host it, and a more passionate (French Canadian!) audience. proud that my home town can bring this life, and obligated to share it. MAdMTV meets HEAVY MTL, Pour Vous, in 4 parts x hope you enjoy as much as we did being there x

UNVEILING: MAdM ART NOUVEAU A LA MOYER!

HOLY HONOR OF ART NOUVEAU HEAVEN
as a visiting muse to this art nouveau red river of rusty leaves and petals, i declare:

“A SACRED HEART HOVERS BETWEEN MY HANDS!”

unveiling the fine art achievement of LEE MOYER!
Century Guild of Chicago created this union between myself and famed illustrator Lee Moyer, in a mad dash effort to bring like minded souls together at Comic Con. This Poster was custom made for this event, in less than 3 weeks (applaud lee!) we will be receiving visitors July 22 at 2PM tomorrow at the Century Guild Booth at the Sand Diego Comic Con. I’ll be catching a sneak peek of it all tonight, but i hear you can not miss this booth- it’s the HIGH ART booth of the convention. it’s where the original Poster art of the turn of the last Century is exhibited and sold. An incredible movement in art, that i certainly visited in another life…. we will gather in that fantasy tomorrow!
Looking forward to seeing all the passion and creation in the football field of fantasy madness x

p.s. #MAdMTV questions for the iconic men of HEAVY MTL is building in Twitter land, but i will try to find a moment to explain it more cohesively here tomorrow – in order to be sure to get as many questions and insights rolling. long of the short is, i am at HEAVY MTL all weekend, surrounded by some of the most incredible heart, minds and hands of Heavy Rock- and i feel a responsibility to ask some questions of these inspiring men. the link between magic, myth and rock! where do they access the fantastical story lines of their creations from? what they think the future of mythic music is in this modern world!? where do women and love fit into their intense landscapes… i’m asking you to provide me with questions and hopefully insight or crucial facts i may not know about the bands history etc….

Montreux Jazz Festival Show Cancelled. DEVASTATED

Due do a Emergency Door Light Malfunction, then an unavailable pilot, my flight to Geneva was cancelled Thursday. Leading to cancellation of my show at the prestigious festival in Switzerland.

I’m heartbroken and apologize for all inconveniences to the Festival and anyone who had planned to attend the show. In my 15 years plus of touring, i’ve never missed a show, with the EXCEPTION of two shows this year due to the Icelandic Volcano. The way i see it, is TWO once in a blue moon flukes like this, makes for SMOOTH sailing from here on out. for the next 150 years, the coast is clear!
I’ll see you again dear Switzerland. our fates are crossed x

I’ve played a Fender Bass for as long as I’ve played Bass – My Fender P has literally brought me around the world, so it was great to reconnect with the Fender team, and be featured on their site. There’s a special Women & Music story building in their camp, keep tuned in HERE.

Speaking of playing the bass, who knew playing someone’s Lunch break could be so fun? Performing live for Shockhound & Hot Topic at their Rock head quarters turned out great.

DENVER, VAUX & ME: NOW!

ok… so i need to get on a plane within the next 24 hours to get to this city in the rockies, but i must tell the story first. WHY AM I GOING TO DENVER?

But also because of my special connections there…

Considering that i have never played in Denver with my own project (other than The Curiosa tour in 2004, but the magic of The Cure may have blinded most of the locals to the fact that i was there) and considering that i live in the North East and just came back from about 3 months of zig zag-ing east coast, west coast, europe and Volcanos, i do crave rest… BUT Denver is the place i want to be this weekend!

Years ago, i came across this magic six piece rock band from Denver, playing in a punk rock parking lot basically. they were VAUX and i’ve loved them ever since. an amazing band who toured harder and played harder than most i’ve ever seen, with HEART, great SONGS AND entirely and inspiringly self initiated DIY!!! we remained in touch over the years, and when i heard they had disbanded after an unfortunate wrestle with, YES a MAJOR LABEL…. it broke my heart, BUT i was determined to cross paths with them again…
Three of these six dedicated musicians, have been touring with me as my band, for the last year. We’ve been from Rome to Finland and Paris to Halifax. They are the best Holy Trinity i could’ve ever hoped for to help me out of my creative cocoon and back on stage. I feel supported and musically in tune with them- which inspired the recording of 22 Below on the album, AND spawned ISIS Speaks- a direct result being so inspired by our union. it’s the first song we wrote as a band- and the last song written and recorded for the album, one of my favorites. thank you….. and now:

This is our very own I LOVE VAUX AND DENVER PARTY… you should come!

VOLCANIC HUNT Day 2 & 3

Off line for my 48 hours of travel. by water and land we crawled.
from an over sold luxury cruise liner to sleeping on floors of buses.
hitchhiking with Vikings was the ideal plan, and we did get a nice lift from a large nordic man, but a van not a glorious row boat….

VOLCANIC HUNT Day 1

Cancelled the last two Shows of the OOOM Mini Tour… Gutted. Now on a HUNT …….
First day of Unknown destination began, after our impromptu Lo-Fi Volcanic Cloud Show- waved goodbye to Class of Hope 2010, outside of Notsuri in Helsinki…..

We then boarded a MASSIVE Scandinavian Cruise ship “SilJia Europa” – 12 stories of Restaurants, Casinos, Clubs and Redrum Shinning hallways…………..
